Oak Maintenance

Oak is a natural product and therefore every oak table is unique. It has its own properties such as colour, structure and grain. Every table has its own property from nature. We use the best oak for our tables.

Finishing
Our tables are finished with a two-component lacquer that has a matte finish. The matte finish allows the table to retain its natural look and feel. The two-component lacquer gives the table a protective layer, which greatly reduces the chance of rings and stains.

How oak wood works
Wood can start to work and this means that it can shrink, expand, warp or crack. This can be caused by too great differences in temperature and humidity.

Daily Maintenance
Just like any other table, oak tables can also be maintained well. You can wipe the table with a damp cloth. Tough stains can be cleaned with a cleaner. There are various maintenance products for sale for matt lacquered oak on our website.

Useful tips and tricks for keeping your OAK table beautiful:

  • When cleaning the table, do not use aggressive cleaning agents or abrasive products.
  • We recommend not to place very heavy products on the table to prevent dents/scratches.
  • Keep the room where the table is located at the same temperature and humidity as much as possible.
  • For very hot products, e.g. plates/pans, we recommend using coasters.
  • If you want to cut something on the table, we recommend using a cutting board.
  • Be careful with tea bags, red wine and objects that can oxidize if placed on the table.

This set contains an effective cleaner and a care product especially for wooden furniture with a matt lacquer layer. This unique set cleans, cares and offers extra protection without leaving a gloss layer. It also removes any shiny spots.

You start by cleaning the table, for this you use Woodclean. This powerful cleaner degreases and removes old dirt and stains. Apply the Woodclean to a lint-free, preferably cotton cloth and clean with circular movements. Let the cleaner work for a few minutes and then rub the surface in the lengthwise direction of the wood with a dry cloth. Once the table is completely dry, apply the mat polish to a clean, lint-free cloth. Apply the polish to the surface with circular movements. To get a nice, even finish, finish with long, straight strokes in the lengthwise direction of the wood. Let the polish dry and enjoy the end result. Depending on the intensity of the table, repeat this 1 to 2 times a year.
